The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), with an assist from the Department of Labor and Employment-Regional Office No. 2 (DOLE-RO2), conducted an orientation for workers about labor programs and services at Parish Hall, Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya recently.

The activity was graced by Kayapa Municipal Mayor, Elizabeth D. Balsya. NCIP personnel’ Atty. Roderick S. Iquin and Engineer Sonny Q. Willie were also present during the activity.

DOLE-Nueva Vizcaya Field Office (NVFO) Provincial Task Force for the Elimination of Local Community Armed Conflicts Focal Person Alicia M. Mason, NVFO’s Livelihood Specialist, Ms. Agatha Cristy S. Garcia, and Community Facilitator, Ms. Kateleen D. Nool, meanwhile presented the different DOLE programs for the Indigenous Peoples (IPs) and Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICCs) in the municipality.

The orientation aims to reach more geographically-isolated and displaced areas for the year to be able to assist more workers with their concerns as well as bring emergency assistance to individuals whose livelihoods were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Representatives from different government agencies such as DepEd, DILG, DPWH, DENR, DOE, DTI, DSWD, NIA and NBI also joined the activity. ###
