The Department of Labor and Employment-Quirino Field Office (DOLE-QFO) conducted a series of orientations on the Barangay Employment Service Assistance (BESA) to 39 beneficiaries from the towns of Cabarroguis and Maddela, Quirino on August 5, 2022.
The orientation aims to improve economic activities through community engagements as a way to generate employment to displaced and would be displaced workers due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the BESA including referrals to various partner agencies for further assistance.
Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Managers’ Luz M. Sebastian of Maddela and Herminigilda T. Gamet of Cabarroguis, and the barangay secretaries designated as BES Assistants were present during the activity.
The orientations were graced by DOLE-QFO Head Geraldine B. Labayani and Labor and Employment Officer II Jake Lorenzo Dela Peña.
In a presentation, Dela Peña explained the BESA’s main function to validate identified individuals pre-qualified for the programs and services of DOLE, the National Wages Productivity Commission (NWPC), and the National Reintegration Center For OFWs (NRCO). He also emphasized that the BES Office will play a vital role in employment through the assistance and services of the PESO for further promotion of employment within their areas of responsibility.
More orientations about the BESA will commence upon the request of the other municipalities in the province. ###
