San Mariano, Isabela – A total of 1,276 informal sector workers from various barangays in this town received their 10 days’ worth of wages among to P4.7M under the Department’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) Program in an awarding ceremony held today, August 11, 2022.
The activity was led by the Local Government Unit of San Mariano through its Public Employment Service Office in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment Region 02.
In his message, Assistant Regional Director Jesus Elpidio B. Atal Jr. said that the TUPAD grant amounting to 4.7M was made possible through the collaboration of the DOLE RO2 with 2nd District of Isabela Congressman Ed Christopher Go.
Congressman Go meanwhile extended his gratitude to the Department for the continued assistance to the marginalized workers of San Mariano, noting how the assistance is crucial in this uncertain times.
The TUPAD workers were engaged in various community projects such as cleaning public facilities in the town.
The DOLE also awarded a check amounting to P100K to the Salaknib Former Rebels Integrated Farmers Association (SARIFA) for being the regional winner of the Best Regional Livelihood Project – Group Category of the 2021 Kabuhayan Awards. ###
